Prayer Life Ministries
We are blessed here at Church of the Holy Spirit with many opportunities to serve and grow in our faith journey. Whether you have one or more hours to give each week or every month there is a parish ministry just for you.
"Visit the Lord in the ‘heart to heart’ contact that is Eucharistic adoration.” (Pope John Paul II)
This ministry is actively engaged in Eucharistic adoration in the Blessed Sacrament chapel. One hour, or even one half hour, of adoration is requested. Adoration schedule is subject to change.

1st & 3rd Wednesday 8:30 - 7:00pm
Other Wednesdays 8:30 - 6:00pm
First Friday 8:30am - 9:00pm
Other Fridays 8:30am - 6:00pm
Ora Et Labora Prayer Group
Ora Et Labora: These two words form the purpose for our prayer group here at Holy Spirit. Primarily spiritual (focusing on readings and discussion, guest speakers, seasonal prayer and activity, etc.) with at least two service events for the parish each year.
This group follows the Benedictine monastic tradition of balancing prayer and work for the good of the community and for each member of the group. Ora et Labora Prayer Group meets in the chapel on the last Monday of each month.
Chapel opens at 6:00 p.m. for personal, silent, prayer. At 6:30 p.m., Communal Prayer, Evening Prayer, Litany of Saints, Deceased remembered, Prayers for Intentions, Parish Prayer Book Intentions, and Prayers for Vocations, begins.
To confirm meeting schedule, contact the parish office at (480) 838-7474.
This group of parish volunteers actively prays for those who have been added to our Prayer Advocates list.
Notification of prayers requested is sent via e-mail. No meetings are required. Simply the dedicated commitment to pray for those who have requested prayers from the parish is all that is required.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Care and the love of knitting (and crocheting) have been combined into this prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted/crocheted into every item.
Ministry members begin each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl and upon completion of each shawl, prayer cloth, or lap blanket, the item is then blessed by our Pastor. If you have ever knitted or crocheted it will come back to you quickly. We can teach beginners.
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry meets Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in Hanley Hall. Come join us!
This group makes three types of cord rosaries for distribution to hospitals, missions, and children’s ministries.
The rosaries are shipped around the world. Please contact the parish office at (480) 838-7474 for meeting schedule.
This ministry is dedicated to praying the rosary every day for our parish, our priests, and religious.
Select a date of the month that you will pray the rosary and stay true to your commitment. That’s all! There are no additional meetings or obligations.
Women's Prayer Group
We gather to prayer the Holy Rosary or the Chaplet of St. Michael for special intentions and especially for the protection for our Priests.
Then, we go deeper, invoking the intercession of St. Sharbel by praying his Chaplet for healing, health, conversion, and any personal intention. (Everyone receives a St. Sharbel Chaplet handmade). Finally, we close with Lectio Divina, a brief reflection on Holy Scripture.
The Woman’s Prayer Group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday 6:30pm-7:30pm every month. All are welcome!
