Catechetical Ministries
We are blessed here at Church of the Holy Spirit with many opportunities to serve and grow in our faith journey. Whether you have one or more hours to give each week or every month there is a parish ministry just for you.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

Religious Education
Religious Formation for elementary (Pre-Kindergarten-6), Junior High Young Apostles (grades 7-8) and Senior High (FLIGHT) students (grades 9-12).
The Department of Catechesis Ministry for Religious Education seeks in assisting parents, (the primary educators of their children’s faith,) in responding to their baptismal promises made to Christ and His Church. A team of faith-filled Catechists and Aids are needed each year to nourish this loving relationship between God, child and neighbor. An exceptional curriculum is utilized, whereby children, teens and adults can strengthen and generously respond with love, to their covenant relationship.
Sessions are weekly throughout the year for Pre-K, (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd,) Elementary, Jr. High, through High School. Additional, opportunities are available for Sacrament Preparation of Baptism, Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist; i.e. Retreat Co-workers, Cooks, Bakers, Snack Coordinators, Seamstress, Bulletin Board, throughout the year and Office Help during the week from Monday through Friday.
Living Nativity
Come experience our Church’s first living Nativity on December 21st from 6pm to 9pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to reflect and pray in this recreation of the night that our Savior was born. We will have actors playing the roles of Mary, Joseph, the three kings and shepherds. Live animals will also be present including a camel, donkey, and other farm animals. Enjoy music from a variety of choirs as you gaze upon the Nativity of baby Jesus. Delicious cookies and hot chocolate will also be served.
Sacrament Preparation
Sacramental Preparation is designed for those who need 1 or more of the sacraments of initiation which are baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist (Holy Communion).
These 3 sacraments are required to fully participate in the life of the Church and help us grow closer to Christ. The preparation process is split into 2 tracks: one track for children ages 7-17 and one for adults. For children ages, 7-17, are taught by catechists in the children's religious education department on Monday and Tuesday evenings generally. Adults are taught through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults track which generally meets on Wednesday evenings. See the schedule for each department on this website.
