Introducing Fr. Long Phi Nguyen, SVD
by Fr. Long Phi Nguyen, SVD | 07/06/2025 | Updates from the PastorMy name is Fr. Long Phi Nguyen, SVD, a member of the Society of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD).
It is with deep joy and reverence that I begin this spiritual journey together with you. I am incredibly humbled and honored to join this vibrant parish community, already so rich in faith, love, and service. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Fr. John Clote and Fr. Joseph Vuong for their faithful ministry and the legacy of care, leadership, and devotion they have shared with this community. I recognize the sacred trust that has been placed in me—not to lead from above, but to walk with you, to listen, to learn your stories, to share your burdens, and to celebrate your joys in Christ.
As we begin this new chapter together, I look forward to getting to know each one of you and your families, praying and worshiping together as one body, and serving our Lord with united hearts and minds. My hope and vision are that we continue to build a parish community that is welcoming, nurturing, compassionate, and alive with the guidance of the Holy Spirit—a place where every member of our community feels welcomed, valued, and called to serve in the mission of Christ.
Inspired by the words of Pope Leo XIV who reminds us that Christ is “the bridge” and we, his disciples, are called to be “bridge builders,” I embrace this mission with humility. He beautifully said: “We are followers of Christ. Christ goes before us. The world needs his light. Humanity needs him as the bridge that can lead us to God and his love. Help us, one and all, to build bridges through dialogue and encounter, joining together as one people, always at peace.”
I come not with an agenda of my own, but with open hands and a listening heart. Together, may we become true bridge builders, fostering a culture of encounter, dialogue, and mercy, and extending the love of Christ within our parish and into the broader community.
Let us walk this path of faith together, drawing closer to God and one another with each step. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about the wonderful community and ministries already thriving here and exploring new ways we can serve and grow in faith together. Please feel free to introduce yourself when you see me at Mass or around the parish or stop by the office. I would be honored to meet you and find ways to support you in your journey of faith.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. May our time together be one of deep spiritual growth, joyful service, and enduring fellowship. I leave you with the words of St. Paul, “I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you [community] will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians1:6).
May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly.
