Youth Sacraments

All students going through Sacrament Preparation will need to:

  • Attend 20+ youth group sessions per year - learning about the teachings of the Church and developing relationships with other young Catholics (link to calendar).
  • Attend 2 retreats per year - learning about the sacraments and other things they need to know to become a lifelong Catholic
  • Complete Service Project & Hours Log- one Service project per year & 10 hours of service AT CHURCH- serving is part of our faith (DUE Ash Wednesday)
  • Complete Why I chose this Saint, explaining why they chose their confirmation saint (DUE Ash Wednesday)
  • Complete Why I want to receive my Sacraments explaining why they want to receive the sacraments (DUE Ash Wednesday)

Parents will also need to help with the following (all DUE the year they receive sacraments):

  • Complete the Sacrament Recording Information form (DUE Oct 1)
  • Help pick and make sure the Sponsor completes the Sponsor Form and provides all appropriate documentation. (DUE Oct 1) The child should know the person well and at least help in choosing their Sponsor. This is someone THEY should have a relationship with. It is NOT just an honorary, familial role.  It needs to be someone that is an example of living out the Catholic faith. See the Sponsor Form for the requirements to be a Sponsor.
  • Provide the baptism certificate for your child if they are baptized. (DUE by Ash Wednesday)
  • Provide their birth certificate if they are not baptized. (DUE by Ash Wednesday)

There is a $25 sacrament fee for those preparing for sacraments to help defer costs of retreats and other sacramental prep materials.
